Sport Your Stripes
Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to live in a city big enough that I would never need a car. Flash forward many years later, and the first thing I did after graduating college and before moving to a new big city was sell my car and I haven't looked back since. While I love the freedom of not having one, sometimes getting around town without it can be a hassle. On weekends when I do most of my "running around town," my outfits usually reflect this lifestyle. On days when I know I'll be out all day, I dress based on functionality and choose pieces that are able to withstand public transit and/or able to walk multiple city blocks. In my city living experience these pieces tend to be durable cottons, lighter-weight fabrics, and if you are like me and can't part with your heels for even daytime errands, opt for a wedge.

Friday Five 2.21.14

Happy Friday!
Here's a list of things that caught my eye on the interwebs this week. Enjoy!
1. This slide show from R29 on fresh ways to style a scarf. Loving the McQueen print (pictured above).
2. These shoes from Zara. Paired perfectly with a chic pair of black ankle pants.
3. This scalp remedy from The Beauty Department. I've tried with both avocado and yogurt. Each one equally delicious for your hair.
4. This slide show from WHO WHAT WEAR on budget friendly style tips. Couldn't agree more with #3, which is why I just purchased some new pumps from Sole Society.
5. This 7 minute HIIT workout from FitSugar. Bonus points: this workout is printable or for workouts on the fly: there are tons of 7 minute workout apps available in the iTunes store available for free.
